What's New in the World?

I know it has been really quiet around here for a few days. I was away for the long weekend and disconnected from all news and politics so I'm trying to catch up on the happenings around the world and in the campaigns so we can get back to business.

Better yet, why don't you tell me one interesting news/political tidbit from over the weekend.

I had a dream that it was close to election day: Obama vs. McCain... only Obama looked like Malcolm Gladwell and I considered changing my vote because of it.

But I guess that doesn't count for real news. =)

I just read that Fidel Castro resigned as President of Cuba. Wow! I was pretty suprised by that news.

I found out that George Washington was 6 ft 3 inches tall. Does that count as political news?

I read on Newsmax that the Globe is not warming. Here's a quote:

"a Feb. 18 report in the London Daily Express showed that there is nearly a third more ice in Antarctica than usual, challenging the global warming crusaders and buttressing arguments of skeptics who deny that the world is undergoing global warming."
